Pizza's Silly

So there's a dog park in the back of our apartment building. After work I take Pizza there to go to the bathroom. There are three stairs to walk up to get into the dog park..she gets up them just fine, but she doesn't really like the down part so much. For some reason she thinks it's better for her to jump off the ledge next to the stairs rather than walking down the stairs. She's such a brave doggie. Don't worry, I always catch her.

We're working on a new trick called Monster. It involves Pizza walking on her hind legs with her front paws out in front of her. It's going to take a lot of work, but I think it's totally going to be worth it if we can get this down!

Catching up

Pizza and I don't have too much to say today, but we thought we would just write quickly to catch up. Thursday Pizza and her daddy went to get her hair and nails done. She came back with a beautiful new bow!! What a looker she is! She's really she though and didn't like all the attention, so the bow had to come off. Saturday the family took a walk to get some Dels. Pizza was sad, because she cannot eat Dels. You know what she does like though, cigarettes! I can't believe her, she is just a child..kids always think they know whats good for them.

Now Pizza is just hanging out eating my sandals while I type and also trying to dig a hole in the floor. She does this alot in the same places..I'm convinced there are bodies under there. It is an old mill building and all. I feel like there's a 95% chance that I am correct with this assumption.

Dog on Wire

This may not be a wire, but this is a dog. I think she is starting to become pretty swift as she grows up. I did not, however, get a picture of when she slipped and fell into the rocks. She didn't like that. I've been trying to get Pizza a job for a while now, maybe she's just destined for the circus.

Pizza is the smartest dog ever

Pizza has decided to train herself to go to the bathroom outdoors. I think thats pretty smart of her considering we were just going for the whole puppy pad thing. Good job Pizza!

I had to spend the weekend away from my little baby, so she stayed with her dad. He always takes her to do cool things when I'm not around :( She went swimming for the first time ever this weekend!! I hear that she sort of liked it. Maybe we will get to take her swimming again soon. She also had ice cream. I got to be part of the second ice cream experience which was nice. She loves vanilla soft serve! There is a cute picture, but it's on her daddy's new camera. Maybe tomorrow we can post it

Follow Up on the Spiders

I keep noticing things.... To an untrained eye these "things "may seem like normal puppy behavior, but to a keen eye like myself, it's quite the opposite.

Every time I let Pizza out of her cage she heads for the kitchen. Once there she proceeds to lie on the ground with her face in the gap between the cabinets and the floor. I've looked, and there are no food remnants there. My assumption is that this is her meeting point with the spider king. This is where they hatch their plans and decide which of the spiders kamikaze warriors will be sent next. (Although the warriors must not think they are kamikaze because they seem to be under the impression that they will kill me, and not the other way around as it has been.)

You might say "Pizza's mom, why don't you just keep her away from that spot?"..and to that I say "Ok, I'll try that".

Wish me luck. I'll keep everyone updated on any more sketchy behavior from the pup.

oh yeah one more thing!! There was a dog parade today on Main Street. I did not find out about it until it was too late to bring Pizza. She would have needed a costume.

Pizza and the Spiders

We brought Pizza home at the end of May. About a week after that, spiders started emerging. I think I've killed at least 1 daddy long legs each day since that time. I have random bites on me that I can only attribute to a spider/spiders. I want to google more information on this, but I am afraid that it will show me a picture of a spider....

Anyway, here's my thoughts on the matter. It took Pizza about a week of living here before she hashed out her plan to try to kill me. Once her decision was made, she teamed up with the spiders to bring me down. Luckily, since she is a puppy, the daddy long legs fooled her with the amount of power they truly possess. I am able to quickly kill them when I see them slowwwly coming towards me with something as small as a nail polish bottle. (I kill them with that, they don't slowly come towards me with nail polish bottles)

I think my theory is also very strong based on the fact that Pizza's dad has never seen one of these daddy long legs. His eye sight is much better than mine, and I think he is more aware of his surroundings than I am, so why has he not had the same type of encounter? I can only assume it is because he is not wanted dead, only me. Then again, he doesn't seem to see the clothes piled up on the couch and the inch of dust on the end table...hmmm maybe his eye sight isn't as keen as I thought.

I hope Pizza doesn't read this and team up with a more dangerous animal.....

PS, do daddy long legs emit poison? I would google it, but the whole picture issue...

Pizza Friday

Pizza is a tomboy. She likes to play with footballs.

Today I came home and Pizza was very excited to see me. I was very excited to see her too. Although, however, I was not so excited that I peed my pants. The same cannot be said for Pizza. And since dogs don't wear pants, she actually peed my shirt. It's ok though, she is too cute.

Today we tried hide and seek again, with a much better outcome. Pizza still didn't find me, but when I came out of hiding she seemed happy to see me. That's progress. Good thing she lives inside an apartment with her mommy and daddy. I don't think she would fair too well out in the wild with the whole survival of the fittest thing. If she can't find a girl sitting behind a couch, how would she ever find food?

Thursday

Pizza is scratching my butt right now. Wait, no, she just bit it. That's enough Pizza.

Ok, distracted her with a toy...

Last night I tried to play hide and seek with Pizza..I threw the ball and she ran to get it. Then I hid behind the chair and waited for her to come find me. Turns out, she didn't really care that I was missing.

Today after work I took Pizza for a little stroll. She went to the bathroom outside! What an amazing doggie I have! She is getting to be so good and smart. Too bad she still doesn't seem to like me very much.

They grow up so fast...

She's already driving! I can't believe it. We brought her home just a month or so ago, and she is already driving. She was 3 pounds, now she's like 5! I bet she's gained more weight since she was weighed at the vet too. She's gotten tall enough now that she can stand on her hind legs and lean on the coffee table and select whatever treats she can find. Mommy's gotta keep that in mind when she leaves her food and drinks on the coffee table....

With her new height, Pizza has also realized that she liked to eat dresses..when people are wearing them. Today I have on my dress and Pizza jumped up and grabbed the end and tried to take me down! Luckily, I am much heavier than a 5(ish) pound dog and could hold my ground. Where did this bratty little pre-teen come from? Maybe she just wants to wear a dress too..Pizza, we can arrange that.

4th of July

Big day for Pizza! It was the first time she put her little toes in the ocean water. First we had a lovely picnic in Colt State Park, then Pizza got a little too hot so she took a little dip in the water. I'm pretty sure she loved it and wants to go back in. Pizza also witnessed her first fireworks this weekend! That part I think she could have done without. She doesn't really like loud fireworks too much, or motorcycles which drove by a lot on our walk to the fireworks. All in all though, I think she enjoyed her day.

Oh on a side note, Saturday afternoon we went to the dog park. Pizza didn't like the other dogs, she just kind of sat there and looked at them like they were idiots. One of the dogs there liked me though, he peed on my leg. It happened so fast before I could react.

This blog is totally not going in sequential order, but now I will talk about today. Try to keep up. Pizza's dad got a $100 gift card to Petsmart from his credit card points and we went on a shopping spree. Pizza just kind of laid down while we shopped, but I think she enjoyed it. She got 4 new toys, a new pink collar, a leash, and a warm vest for the winter. The vest was only $2!! What a steal! When she gets to her full size we will buy her a purse/bag she can be carried in and also a seat belt so she doesnt have to travel in her doggie taxi. Although, the doggie taxi is cool and can be turned into a convertible.

Ok, enough for now!

Pizza...Fetch

Not much new to report today. I was awoken today with a Pizza on my belly, she is so cute in the morning. I had to leave her alone today for a few hours on account of I needed to get some sun. We're going today to take her to meet a new friend, then we're headed to play with her cousin and have a cookout. Pizza is a busy, popular girl!

The video has nothing to do with this post, just thought I would share one of Pizza's favorite pastimes with all of her followers.

Attack of the Pizza

Just a typical day in the life of Megan and Pizza. I don't think my voice is firm enough based on this footage.

Whatever will we do?

oh..she also just learned how awesome it is to eat shoes. Fun.
