We brought Pizza home at the end of May. About a week after that, spiders started emerging. I think I've killed at least 1 daddy long legs each day since that time. I have random bites on me that I can only attribute to a spider/spiders. I want to google more information on this, but I am afraid that it will show me a picture of a spider....
Anyway, here's my thoughts on the matter. It took Pizza about a week of living here before she hashed out her plan to try to kill me. Once her decision was made, she teamed up with the spiders to bring me down. Luckily, since she is a puppy, the daddy long legs fooled her with the amount of power they truly possess. I am able to quickly kill them when I see them slowwwly coming towards me with something as small as a nail polish bottle. (I kill them with that, they don't slowly come towards me with nail polish bottles)
I think my theory is also very strong based on the fact that Pizza's dad has never seen one of these daddy long legs. His eye sight is much better than mine, and I think he is more aware of his surroundings than I am, so why has he not had the same type of encounter? I can only assume it is because he is not wanted dead, only me. Then again, he doesn't seem to see the clothes piled up on the couch and the inch of dust on the end table...hmmm maybe his eye sight isn't as keen as I thought.
I hope Pizza doesn't read this and team up with a more dangerous animal.....
PS, do daddy long legs emit poison? I would google it, but the whole picture issue...
this was by far my favorite post you have ever posted in the entire history of the pizza blog. i especially enjoyed the part about spiders coming at you with nail polish... it presented me with a nice visual. I pictured them carrying bottles of pink OPI nailpolish.. is that accurate?
ReplyDeleteI'm calling the MSPCA on those poor daddy longlegs. It's always the daddys that get unfair treatment.
